In a world where everyone is focused on their phones, swiping to decide on potential matches, and where snapping, texting, and tweeting have taken over, eye contact seems to have vanished from our vocabulary. With my project, Reconnect, I aim to use technology to bring back this essential element of human interaction. Social media has expanded our communication globally, but non-verbal cues essential for true understanding — such as body language and eye contact — remain invisible in our digital world. Reconnect bridges this gap by allowing users to digitally look into the eyes of potential matches through a specially designed teleprompter. The project explores the power of non-verbal communication and invites people to rediscover meaningful connection through eye contact. The goal is to create a first, unforgettable experience — where a glance says more than a thousand words.
